By Nigerians Abroad news wire

Foremost Nigerian literary scholar and Nobel laureate winner, professor Wole Soyinka has given his full support to the presidential bid of the country’s former anti-corruption agency boss, Nuhu Ribadu.

In an interview with Doha based satellite channel, Aljazeera, Soyinka says his endorsement of  the former anti-corruption crusader, is based on  his personality and  effectiveness during his reign as EFCC Chairman.

“He toppled all powerful Inspector General of police, puts numbers of governors to flight and then prosecuted them not only in Nigeria, but in other countries, like london [England]. [Ribadu] enables Nigeria to recovered billions of naira. This man [life] was endangered… assassination attempts were made …He was that effective, ” Soyinka said.

Ribadu, a presidential contender under the banner of Nigeria’s main opposition party, Action Congress of Nigeria, was head of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from 2003 - 2007, under the regime of former Nigeria’s president Olusegun Obasanjo, who happens to be one of Nigeria’s’ ruling party chieftains.

Nigeria’s presidential poll is (tentatively) slated for  April 16.

Ribadu of EFCC is not the same as Ribadu the ACN Presidential candidate. The new Ribadu said during the NN24 debate that Nigerians are not corrupt and the audience shouted in disagreement,he also said the Tinubu is not corrupt, all this for the sake of power. So Prof with due respect I want to disagree with you and confirm my vote for Buhari/Bakare ticket ,the two honest men best for the job

Our able President,His Excellency President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan is the best of them all.Not because he is currently on seat but because he has proved to Nigerians that he is worthy of the seat and my fellow Nigerians has agreed to that. Why not let us all support him so to build the Nigeria of our dream.
